Customer drops off/picks up

  1. Fill out the booking form and check your email for further instructions and my home shop address.

  2. Park out front and text me and I’ll come out to your car to retrieve your items.

  3. Back in the shop, I’ll evaluate damage and photograph your items to document their condition.

  4. I’ll email a quote including the price of sharpening plus suggested repairs. I won’t start work until you agree to the quote. (If you don’t agree to the quote, we can discuss another repair strategy, or you can arrange a convenient time to pick up your items.)

  5. When the job is done you’ll receive another email. Pay the invoice and choose a time to pick up your items.

Preparing Your Items for Service

Cleaning

Please remove food and loose debris from your items before handing them off. I’ll take care of any rust or stubborn gunk.

Wrapping

Blades must be securely covered for transport. I recommend using dish towels and rubber bands. Sheaths or knife sleeves may be used if you have them.

How to Wrap:

Knives (and other small tools)

Multiple knives may be rolled up in one towel as long as they’re not touching. Roll the towel completely around the first knife before adding the next knife to the roll. Fold the ends over and secure both sides with rubber bands.

Axes

Wrap the head, not the handle.

Mower Blades

Just the blade, wrapped in a towel. No lawnmowers, please.

Large Yard Tools

These don’t need to be wrapped.
